Overview

Industrial aerogel insulation coating is intended for pipes, valves, flanges and complex equipment where conventional insulation is difficult to fit or maintain.

It is evaluated as a coating system rather than a single wet product: substrate condition, primer, insulation layer, protective finish and curing environment all affect the result.

Handling / storage

  • Confirm surface cleanliness, metal temperature and dew point before application.
  • Plan coating build, drying interval and protective topcoat around the equipment operating and shutdown window.

Selection limits

  • Not suitable for selection without operating temperature, geometry, surface condition and exposure data.
  • Do not use this summary as a corrosion-under-insulation assessment or a substitute for process safety review.
