Silicon-Based Penetrating Water Repellent

Low-viscosity penetrating water repellent that forms nanoscale hydrophobic interfaces inside porous concrete, masonry and stone substrates.

Water-beading demonstration on a treated mineral sample

Overview

This low-viscosity silicon-based treatment is intended for porous mineral substrates where a penetrating hydrophobic treatment is being evaluated rather than a heavy surface film.

Concrete, masonry, stone, mortar and repair substrates differ in porosity and moisture condition; a trial area is essential before broad application.

Handling / storage

  • Clean the substrate and remove loose material, contamination and standing water before a trial.
  • Apply evenly to saturation as appropriate for the substrate; confirm uptake and visual effect in a representative test area.

Selection limits

  • Not a crack-bridging membrane, structural repair material or a substitute for drainage design.
  • Performance can change with substrate porosity, moisture, contamination, cure and exposure; verify on the actual substrate.

Product FAQ

Will it stop all water ingress?

It is a penetrating water-repellent treatment for appropriate porous substrates, not a substitute for waterproofing design where hydrostatic pressure or active defects are present.

Why is a test patch needed?

Mineral substrates vary greatly in porosity, moisture and contaminants, all of which affect absorption, appearance and performance.
